"Google Chrome browser for iOS is coming", wrote Schacter in a report this morning. "Apple may already be reviewing Google's submitted code for a Chrome browser for iOS."
According to Schacter, the Chrome browser for iOS can be expected as soon as this quarter but definitely by this year.
He says this a big deal because Google is paying Apple 50-60% revenue share for search done in Safari. This would cut out the middleman for searches made through Chrome, letting Google keep all the revenue it generates.
Schacter also suggests that Apple's refusal to let third party browsers be the default on iOS could lead to government intervention, similar to how Microsoft was hammered in the 90s.
